Good Grief, Michael!
Nobody can make a living on just 7
bones! If times get tough with the government dole, you could always
expand your horizons and add a bone. Maybe T1? Heck, you could
really go for broke and add T2 as well! :>)
My son is Director of Emergency Medicine
and he is always grousing about how much money you OrthoPods make! Personally
I feel sooo sorry for the lot of you.. you never know where the next BMW
payment is going to come from! :>)

Leading Edge tape
Thanks
How is the doctor business down
there? I am an ortho spine surgeon- all I do is cervical spine.
Last year work RVU was up 15 percent and comp was down 20. Mostly because a lot
more Medicare. Hope it isn’t the same in your neck of the woods.

Subject: [LML] Removing Leading
Edge tape
Mike:
When doing the
initial flight testing with my IV-P with the 1” leading edge tape
installed, the TAS at FL240 at 75% power ROP was 291kts—just what
the factory specs had anticipated without tape based upon testing on the
original IV (409L). I could therefore not detect any significant slowing effect
of the 1” tape. I never did fly without it on mine, however, so have no
direct comparisons.
When putting it on
initially, I think we had about 40% above the plumb line leading edge, and about
60% below. DL and Brad Simmons made the call on that however, so you might want
to ask them directly. I have just kept the same position on it ever since.
Good luck.

TT and counting…
“I have 950TT on my IV and had to repaint the leading edges
twice. In fact I have 2 Vr- one for rotation on takeoff and one for
in-flight rain- I slow to 160 KIAS for any significant rain. The purpose
of this post is that I am wondering if the tape slows the airplane down and if
I wanted to put it on for the first time how do I align the tape”
