Doug, Don't hit the tail on the ground and you wont need a skid plate. The 235's with the lower gear can do that but the taller geared models shouldn't unless you really tried to do it... All the extra stuff in the wind slows you down... Randy Snarr N694RS

I'm getting close to painting the project and trying to finish any additional glass requirements. I notice some folks have a extension on the bottom tail to prevent the rudder from getting banged/bashed on low tail landings. My CG (current discussion) should be acceptable but I'm not ready to put money on it yet. (No header tank, hydraulic pump on the rear f.w., hartzell 2 blade, extended mount, and big tail.
