According to the article, it was a "twin-engined single-seat aircraft" designed by Allan Frazier, the gentleman killed in the crash. Apparently, again according to the news article, he was doing some high-speed runway tests when the airplane became airborne, went straight up a couple hundred feet, stalled and crashed.
