Vicor DCDC Converters are great devices.  Tough, Reliable and well
designed.  They are used a lot in military applications.  They aren't
cheap and if you decide to use one, hook it up to the loads it will
support for some time to evaluate your cooling requirements.  They can
run very warm with no problem. =20

Make sure you check the data sheet and other Vicor reference material
concerning heat dissipation (and other requirements) before finalizing
your installation.
