I had a similar discussion with my DAR when I
paired my TSIO550 to my 4-bladed
feathering MT prop. There is an STC for a couple planes with this
combo. Then the DAR looked at the engine and said that since it had been
overhauled by Performance Engines, it was no longer a "real" Continental engine
and the STC would not apply. In the end he gave me the state of Oregon as
a test area so I was not bored during the 40 hours.

Bill is correct.
When
I found the STC I contacted Executive Sales. They were very happy to help and
gave me a copy of the STC. They are MT propeller distributor and own the STC. So
if you're considering this propeller I would recommend getting it from
them.
