Jeff,
I had a 3 ring blue binder once from Lancair which was an accessories catalog. It had a real nice Lancair logo on it with the airplane taking off from under the logo. Looked real nice.
I took it to a local embroidery shop and they scanned it into a computer and I had it sewn with white thread into a dark navy cloth and it came out absolutely stunning. She said she could also sew it into leather but I chose cloth, but the leather could be used for headrests, etc. The logo could be made any size you wanted.
I then took the cloth and wrapped it around a nice piece of oval shaped thin aluminum with some padding in between.
I will go out to the hangar and take a picture if you're interested.
The entire cost was less than $40.
I am sure you could do the same with a plastics molding company. I saw a few at Oshkosh that did great work.
Some ideas to get you
started.
