I was looking for a Reichel trim a year or so ago. I got a response (probably the same fellow) from South Africa also and again nothing ever showed up. I would still very much like to get one and would also be interested in reverse engineering it if that's what it means. Please keep me in mind if anything materializes.

  I saw one installed in a 320(?) and thought it was a very nice system. A while ago there was a thread about runaway trim and that got me thinking. I like the idea of a positive mechanical connection as opposed to pushing a button and waiting for the response. Eliminating the trim tab and the weight of the servo would reduce the weight of the elevator, eliminate tab hinge wear, and might require less counterweight. OTOH I can imagine that being able to adjust trim by pushing a button on the stick would be very convenient.

 

 What do those who have the system think of it? Has anyone installed such a system on a IV? Thanks-  Bill Wade

PS:  I can't state emphatically enough how much the list has meant to me over the years.  I appreciate builder and flight tips.  I agree that there are many discussions irrelevant to me.  Or stated another way, flight safety overkill.  Remember you can't be too safe!  Even in bubble wrap in a closet.  Stuff could happen....... Insurance....  Programming software in my $$ box.....  Stuff like this, I just hit the delete key.  It's the verbal attacks that I would be delighted to see censured.
