Please consider the following questions: 1. Is is possible for the heat exiting the cowl gills to be drawn into the cabin NACA duct? 2. I see the exhaust pipe exit is not in the usual place (below the fuselage). Is it possible that exhaust can be drawn into the cabin NACA duct in different flight regimes (especially slow speed) or whilst taxiing? I would suggest that you monitor the CO level in the cabin during your test flights with the vent open. A good digital CO monitor can be found at the Aeromedix site: _http://www.aeromedix.com/category-exec/parent_id/1/category_id/7/nm/Carbon_Mo noxide_Detectors_ (http://www.aeromedix.com/category-exec/parent_id/1/category_id/7/nm/Carbon_Monoxide_Detectors) I have had the CO Experts model in my airplane for years - It caused me to plug up a drain hole in the belly because the low pressure in the cockpit was drawing in CO from the exhaust. The new key chain model is sure intriguing. Scott Krueger AKA Grayhawk Lancair N92EX IO320 SB 89/96 Aurora, IL (KARR) Pilot not TSO'd, Certificated score only > 70%.
