external BUT the AP does not recognize the loss of ground so there is a design issue as well. STEC admitted in court that the loss of ground can result in this failure BUT will not tell the customers about this problem.

Jeff,
    on the stec loss of ground problem, is that just an external connection problem or is there  a failure inside the unit?
