Colyn,
Not a 55x, it is a S-Tec 50..  Which res= istor ?? Don't know exactly whether it 's in parallel or series with the ex= isting Altitude Hold circuit.  Originally S-Tec sent me a box with a v= arying bunch of resistors to try, no one of which did the job in the altitu= de hold in all configueratons of Alt, Load, Speed etc, therefore a gan= g potentiometer of resistances from 17 M to 43 M ohms...which did work= for a couple of years, then the wires worked loose from the controller&nbs= p;as they existed the box, Held by RTV. Several trips to Mineral Wells, ( i= t always had to be a harness problem, replaced twice) before they = found the two external wires were shorting an internal 5 pico fus= e in the Alt Hold circuit.   From the LN List somebody had 34 M '= s work, so the last time to Mineral Wells they installed it and took o= ut the offending external wires.  All my protestations and requests to= put the shorting wires thru the 26 pin ( I think it's 26) connector w= ere ignored until Ed York said recently that because I'm "Experimental= " thry probably could do that..  go figure..
I've got another novel about the Absolute Alt Transducer that c= omplicated this entire process.  Don Skeele   A&P N= 320J   235/320-------------- Original message from "Colyn Ca= se at earthlink" <colyncase@earthlink.net>: --------------

Don,
Was this a 55x?  W= hich resistor on the board is the one that needs to be changed?
