Jeff,
First off. I never said it was ok.
Second. Find something better to do with your time then sit around and "summarize" my post into your own twisted interpetations.
Its just a comment on the videos. I enjoy watching them. Nothing you can do about it.
I Never said it was safe. And I never asked for feedback, including yours.

Lets not start bashing our fellow Lancair pilots, whom have contributed plenty to this list Im sure, just for putting up a video of some dangerous flying....that most of us enjoy watching......I have worked in professional aviation for 14 years now and every pilot I know,

Bryan,

I am not sure that I understand your post--but let me see if I can summarize your comments.

1. Its ok to do something illegal and dangerous because you enjoy watching it.

2. You have worked in "professional aviation" for 14 years and every pilot you know does it.

3. You know the folks who do these illegal and dangerous stunts and they are great folks therefore it is ok.

Children give the same kind of excuses when they are little:

1. Everyone else is doing it.
2. They saw this stunt on tv therefore they can do it, too.
3. Their best friend does it.

Bryan--please let me know what part of "professional aviation" you are in so I can be an informed consumer.

Your former customer,

Jeff

I like those youtube videos.  May not be safe or something that I would/could do but neither are low level aerobatics at airshows or Reno air races.
I happen to know some of those who are flying in those videos and they are a great group. Lets not start bashing our fellow Lancair pilots, whom have contributed plenty to this list Im sure, just for putting up a video of some dangerous flying....that most of us enjoy watching......I have worked in professional aviation for 14 years now and every pilot I know, including the professionals have done stuff like this and often worse.   Doesn't make it ok. But as long as there are fast planes pilots to fly them there will be hot flyin.

Go to youtube.com and type in "Lancair low pass" and watch at the knuckleheads buzzing sailboats, etc.

I looked at the videos available for Lancair on you tube.  I frankly was horrified, particularly by the stunts of low altitude high speed passes- sure I get the exhilaration part but if I were sitting back as CEO in an overstuffed leather care in the corner office of a very niche insurance arena and saw that this is how these airplanes were being flown, I would request a Rorschach diagram and MMPI on every pilot application and think long and hard about how high I could possible squeeze the premium because its not really a question of when some idiot is going to auger in but how many and would my company be involved in paying back the damages.  Clearly a few people spoiled the stew.  I am disgusted, frankly with not only that that stuff was being done but also that it posted on the web to declare such stupidity for the whole world to see.

Thanks to the select few who are ruining it for the rest of us.
