An outfit in Florida sold me the Hytron hose. It was $1.60 per ft or so and was quite difficult to work with. Get some extra for practice. I found them on the internet. The Hytron hose is much lighter than steel braid and takes much tighter bends too. I can't find their name right now but I'll keep looking. HYTRON hydraulic hose
I have about 15' of Hytron hr?303 hose never used and the protective cover is cracked and basically gone! I suspect it added nothing to the strength,, but I have replaced a couple of sections on my kit with aeroquip 303.

Andy,
I went through this same thing last year. An outfit in Florida sold me the
Hytron hose.
It was $1.60 per ft or so and was quite difficult to work with. Get some
extra for practice.
I found them on the internet. The Hytron hose is much lighter than steel
braid and takes much tighter bends too.
I can't find their name right now but I'll keep looking.
