Just a note to share my joy.
On a flight from Bremerton WA to Lenhardt Airpark (south of Portland OR) to deliver one of my grand-daughters back home, my Lancair 320, N42BK, passed 500 hours since new. I smiled as I watched to hobbs tick over. It has been an adventure in every sense of the word. The plane has carried me to the east coast twice; mid-continent many times; out for $35 hamburgers many, many times. "I've been everywhere man, seen the mountain air man...."
When things were going badly during the build, I wondered if it would ever fly -- and if it did, would it land with all it's parts and pieces. It has (except for a short piece of exhaust pipe at about 30 hours).
I fly it when I need to fly it. I fly it when I want to fly it. I love it. It's a joy.
