Hi Colyn: I have previously written a program to pull new listings from
the FAA database for specific types (TBM 700 in my case). That data is
reasonably easy to obtain by adding the various Lancair types.
However, I think it begs the question of what are you going to
offer? Typically, most aircraft type groups organize formally when
circumstances warrant (Piper, Cessna, MU-2, TBM, Duke, Beech owners)
but they have a program to offer with sponsors and some form of
organized and approved curriculum for training and insurance and
maintenance. Liability is an issue. I am suggesting that it is easy
to contact the registration changes but what is the message you want to
send and how is it going to be useful to a new owner? I think the last
part is probably where the workload lies. If you think it through it
probably ends up with an organization, budget, directors and insurance
to have a lasting effect. If you simply want to tell people what is
available (LML) then for about a dollar per postcard you can contact
new registration addresses. That reminds me I have to send in my
Lancair resale form...

Anybody know how to get name/address
for registration transfers? Apparently it is public information
because I always get a lot of new junkmail when I buy a plane.
Also - who is our accident stats
guy? Someone was tracking all this stuff.
