(I've been out = of the loop lately with the passing of my mother and tending to my = father who has the big 'C') Since there is no Lancair Redmond Fly-in Labor Day weekend this year, = Saturday, August 16 is the date we have set. It should be doable for = all as it is well after the EAA Northwest Arlington Fly-in in early = July, 2 weeks after Air Venture in late July, and after the Hillsboro = Airshow. The 16th is (I think) free of other aviation functions. So = set aside the date. We will again host the flyers and builders at the nicest FBO on the = field, Medford Air (the same FBO as last year) . Breakfast and lunch = are planned to accommodate all flyers and builders regardless when they = arrive and depart. Because of late morning marine layer issues at some = coastal departure airports (California), as well as the afternoon = temperature in August in Southern Oregon, some flyers may choose to stay = the night and depart in the cool Sunday AM weather. Hotel discounts are = available (Rogue Regency). There are two hotels within walking distance = of the FBO (recommend Marriott Courtyard). Both truck fuel and self = service fuel is available. =20 More details at a later date. Just wanted to get that date set for = everyone's advance planning for the summer.
