Also, High speed runs at low altitudes on a hot day are testing the G-limit envelope. Remember that if you bought a carbon Legacy kit and intended to race it at Reno, Lancair applied extra carbon in the tail cone and vertical stablizer area for strength and stiffness. This need has shown up in stressed LNC2's as cracks in the vertical stabilizer strake where is rises out of the tail cone. Stressed LNC2's are those that frequently (like always) fly in the yellow arc regardless of, uh, conditions. It is possible to put a 390 in an LNC2 (one raced at Reno) and even turbo charge it. Some care is required when operating at the edge of the design performance envelope. And, watch out for those runway incursions. Grayhawk
