Marv and I are pressure testing my L-IV-P. Our first step was to hook a = shop vac up backwards and blow it into the cabin. We buttoned things up, = but due to the need to recheck a few things, we duct taped some long = seams rather than RTVing them. It worked quite well, with the incense = smoke (the plane smells good!) streaming out through the holes we = missed. Now, it's not possible to tape everything. There are some places that = only RTV works. But it seems that there are a fair number where a tape = product such as duct tape might work long term. Possible problems?=20 Maybe it will spring leaks? Maybe a different tape would be better. Maybe it will leave adhesive that has to be cleaned off when you pull it = up three years down to do maintenance? Sure, but RTV is a bitch to clean = off, and GooGone works well on tape residue. Who knows? Does anyone really know? Comments?
