Tim and others- do you have any opinion on polyurethane marine paint systems such as Interlux? I have a dealer nearby and it seems to me that boats are exposed to harsher UV, chemical and physical conditions than a plane is likely to see.  Also, I ran across silver Sharpies at Wal-Mart. They show up beautifully on carbon and clean up with acetone.  -Bill Wade
