Hi Jeff,

I put a SIRS wet compass in my Legacy's instrument panel.  I figured I'd have a little harder time adjusting out the errors than if I had put it on top of the glare shield, like you often see.  I "swung" it and got it close enough for me.  In flight, it acts just like any other whiskey compass: leads, lags, bounces around in turbulence, etc.

Since I swung and adjusted it, I added a 2.25" TruTrak ADI, and I noticed on a northerly heading on a recent flight that it was off by quite a bit more than my compass correction card said, so I guess I need to swing it again.  By the way, swinging it was easy, just follow the instructions and use the nonmagnetic screwdriver that comes with it.

Here's a photo showing my panel while I was still installing it.  The compass is at the top of the instrument panel, just to the right of the clock.  I got the internal lighting option for the compass, which works fine.  Since this photo was taken, I've completed the panel, including the glove box and its door on the far right and the ADI below the Cheltons.
