Randy, You might want to check the main gear weldment after a hard landing. Lancair has a service bulletin out on this. SB054-0600 Here's the link: I would also check the entire gear, every weld, and every place the gear attaches to the front and rear spar and the phenolic attach points, basically everything - for the slightest little crack that might show. I'd use a lot of light and inspection mirrors galore. Best of luck and thanks for the warning on keeping power on all the way down. Matt

Hey all,
Yeah, it's a little embarrassing but.I made a Piper Cherokee 140 type landing today.but I wasn't in my 140, I was in my Lancair 360.
I learned - after 95 hours of flying the L360 - what a landing is like when I pull the power off 3 feet above the deck instead of carrying power all the way down. It was definitely a mental lapse on my part.
Anyway, I need a part to replace the one in the pictures and was wondering if anyone had one lying around. I will be glad to purchase it from you.
I have completed a very thorough inspection and have found no other visible damage. The Ong's Debongers sure took a shot and seem to have held up. If anyone has any comments about what else to look for or be aware of, I am open to the dialog.
A couple of
the pictures clearly show the stress the part took by the cracks in the paint. This massive casting bent about 3/16 of an inch.
Hopefully a little wiser for the wear.
