Two things to check:
1) I would expect the steel landing gear weldment (GM1?) to bend before
the aluminum forging. Check for any bending of the weldment by laying
a straightedge against the top of the steel tube inside the wing.
I'll try an ASCII drawing... Look for bends at the asterisks (*)

2) Make sure you've complied with SB050
http://www.lancair.com/Main/service_bulletins/SB050.pdf
Check for cracks in GM4 as well as the bond between the
phenolic block and the lower spar cap.

As for the landing technique, I would recommend paying attention to
angle of attack rather than whether to carry power to touchdown.
Once in the flare, and flying parallel to the ground at low
altitude, deck angle is a fair approximation on AoA. In the flare, I
pull nose up 5-10 degrees above the horizon and keep it there until
the mains touch down.

You can learn to land well with the power completely off, but pull
the nose up too high, and you can expect to pound in pretty vigorously.
