In my limited experience with flying
complex airplanes I don’t believe I have ever seen a vermier control used for
the throttle while nearly every constant speed prop is controlled with the use
of a vernier control cable as well as the mixture. I also know that ACS
makes a black vernier cable and can be purchased at Aircraft Spruce
(A-1760 VERNIER
CONTROL found at http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/a1760.php)
but I am unable to find the same thing on the Aerocraft Parts
website.
I really like the precise control
one has with the use of the vernier for the RPM (prop/blue) and EGT
(mixture/red) and I often think about changing my friction control throttle to a
vernier style. I think about it most frequently when I am landing and
trying to slowly change the throttle setting for proper power while on
final.
I would like to hear other’s
thoughts on this.
