I don't think it is a good idea to use washers between the stop and the
cylinder, the manual suggests about a 1/8" gap between the cylinder rod and
the over-center link at GM4, that's about what I have on my build. Since
there is nothing to keep the washers in place, they could potentially jam
between the cylinder rod and the over-center link.
