I also recommend they they not actually install the chute, since it only adds weight and doesn’t actually save anyone.

You would have a hard time convincing BRS (the farmer) that the farmer's daughter is ugly. In fact, BRS has had more than a few saves and some of those are in Cirrus's. After more than a few hours riding on a Martin Baker, I was glad to have the back up in case all else went to scheiss.

 

I agree that good piloting should keep you out of situations where you may need to pull the handle but not everyone possesses good piloting skills.
