Sandy / Craig,
It was great to see you at Oshkosh. I had hoped to
talk with you more, but the attractions diverted my attention. (Am I AADD?)
I’ve already registered for ground school
and Chelton training. We will arrive late Friday afternoon/early evening, so we
won’t make the winery tour, but we do intend to join you for dinner Saturday
night. We’re sharing a rental car with the Brunner’s, so I suspect we’ll be inseparable.
See you next month

Subject: [LML] Napa/Nut tree
fly-in and HPAT training
High Performance Aircraft Training and “Napa”
Fly In
September 21 to 23, 2007
You are
invited to the third annual Napa/Nut Tree Lancair Fly In and HPAT training
weekend. This year, initial/recurrent training and ground school will be
offered at the Nut Tree Vacaville (KVCB) airport in beautiful Solano County. We
have chosen Nut Tree airport for several reasons: new ramp, cheaper fuel,
extended runway (now 4700’), and little chance of fog.
The
weekend will consist of a no host welcome dinner on Friday night. Saturday will
be the HPAT Lancair ground school. Saturday night will be a hosted dinner at
the Gainza residence in Green
Valley,
half way between Napa
and Vacaville. Sunday
Keith Thomassen will offer a free one hour “Utilization of your GPS” seminar at
10 a.m. HPAT is considering offering a half day Chelton course and a half day
turbine pilot ground school if there is interest. A wine tour Friday afternoon
is available for anyone arriving before noon on Friday. Other non aviation
amusements in Vacaville include a
new amusement park and a large outlet mall complex.
HPAT
flight training will also be scheduled for those in need of recurrent
certification. If you don’t need the training, you are still welcome for the
weekend, more time to tour the beautiful wine country or hit the fruit stands
in the Suisun Valley.
Looking
forward to seeing old friends and meeting some new ones! If you would like a
more detailed agenda as well as hotel suggestions, and hangar and car rental
information, please email Sandy Gainza. To sign up for training or the ground
schools, contact Jule Shafer of HPAT at jule.hpat@yahoo.com
or call her at 541-420-7920.
