Last year I arrived in an ES, and the controllers denied the higher altitude/speed.  No explanation.  They wanted everyone at 90 kts and the same altitude period.  I don't know how long that lasted.   I landed two airplanes in front of the RV that crashed turning final.   It wasn't all that busy at the time as I recall.

Been there three times, did the lower arrival, Ripon / Fisk, the first time and was not pleased with the 90 Kt pattern, was "Sing" behind a bi-plane, head swelving, palms sweating, I am committed and would like to be elsewhere, the 90 kts was more like 70 mph. The other two visits were at the 135 Kt pattern and had fewer A/C and you have a better view of the area ahead. I would expect the controllers would like to see us there also. Don Skeele
