How often do you have to empty the poly bottle.

[LML] Oil Separator

Brad, I've installed one of Spruce's separators for experimental aircraft on
my LNC2  6 or 7 years ago and it works just fine. I plumbed the outlet into
a small poly bottle (approx. 1 pint or so) attached beneath the separator as
I did not want the ugly goo that collects in there returned to my engine. To
enhance it's ability to condense the oil vapors internally, I blew a small
amount of cool air on the body of the unit - not sure if that was needed but
I think it did.

I'm running a small Lycoming but the separator will probably work on just
about any engine. It's about 4 inches in diameter, slightly less than that
high and attaches to the firewall (or as desired) via attach points on the
base-plate.

Cleaning the bottom of my Lancair got to be a whole lot less work
afterwards -

Regards,

Dan Schafer
