Cold engine heating guys,

What are some problems with just using full synthetic engine oil, which stays thin to very cold temps? Is preheating the fuel, rather than the engine itself, the main problem?

Mike,

You are still correct in that it is a viable alternative.  The blower would run for several hours on a 12v battery whereas using electrons to make heat would discharge the battery much faster.  Couldn't leave it on all night but an hour's use before flight would be simple easy.

Robert,

Woops!  I knew it sounded too easy.
