What I've found that works about as well as
any of the tapes made specifically for airplanes is Scotch electrical
tape. Scotch has several different types, but the good stuff (33+, I
think) comes in many colors, including white. It doesn't last forever,
either, but it doesn't leave goo on the wing, and takes only a few minutes to
replace. For about $5 a roll, it's hard to beat.
