Hi Dom,
We used just plain old clear silicon caulk from the local hardware store.
Place masking tape carefully along either side of the joint, lay the caulk
into the joint with a caulking gun, smooth it down with single pass of a wet
finger and remove the masking tape fairly soon thereafter, definitely well
before the caulk starts to dry. In removing the tape pull it up and away from
the joint at about a 45 degree angle.
Sue and I just re-caulked 5ZQ's right wing after the bird strike repair. It's
a quick, easy and cheap procedure that we like much better than the white tape
we had used previously.
