Yes, I have the new damned - I mean damped - strut.  And everything together works damped well although I did not drill the cooling holes in the strut fairing that some builders have tried. 
 
I had a similar problem with my GlaStar and it shimmied so badly that the wheel pant broke apart.  My fix was to add another Belden washer and crank them down tight.  Ya gotta ensure that the nose wheel is perfectly aligned at the start of the takeoff run or it will pull you toward the weeds, but on landing there's neither shake nor rattle during the roll.

Don't you also have the new style strut with stronger damping force?  But you are right, we really don't have enough data to definitively determine the cause of the shimmy.  Some people seem to get it, some don't.  But the ES seems to suffer more shimmy than the retractables.
 
This is the first I'd heard of any in the Legacy.
