Hi guys,
I received new bearing blocks from Tim at Lancair to correct the 5.5 deg forward angle on my nose gear and when I was ready to install them I realized the mounting pads on the engine mount were not parallel.  The starboard one sits vertically however the port one is canted 5/16" out at the top.  Have any of you had that situation and if so did you make a tapered shim, use washers or some other fix?

Also I remember someone, I think it was Mike Easley, suggesting getting rid of the castle nuts and using standard nuts to reduce play in the  nose gear attachment. I like that idea has anybody tried that yet?

John, Any tendancy to shimmy yet?
