I've been flying into OSH for 15-20 years and several times felt I needed to take the warbird arrival route with a special homebuilt. However, I arranged for it in advance. We had approval to fly the 1934 deHavilland Comet replica on that route because of it's severely limited forward visibility from the cockpit. It would have been a real safety issue to join the pack of other VFR arrivals. The key is prior approval, not do it on your own at the last minute. Pat Halloran
