 Thanks for all the responses on this problem.  There were a lot of
fantastic suggestions. However,  I must have been a little premature with my
findings that after replacing O rings in the pump, nothing changed.  Instead,
I was ecstatic to discover (after a short check flight) that indeed it did.
 Maybe it just took a few more gear cycles, but the pump has stopped cycling
both on the ground and in the air.  And replacing the the O rings in the pump
was easy.  Just have to remember to put the spool valve in the right way!
