The guys at GAMI/Advanced Pilot Seminars have remarked several times that they really liked the aneroid (altitude compensating)circuit in the Continental fuel pumps. Continental apparently took it off because the field mechanics didn't/couldn't/wouldn't set them up properly and they got a bad rap amongst the customer base.

I have a C-185 with an IO-550 and the aneroid bellows system. It works
quite well...it always needs a little tweaking, but it does a much
better job of compensating for altitude than the bendix system on my RV8.
