[...would like to see how I fit in [a Legacy] (6'2" @230) before I fly out to the factory. ]
Tony Pucciarella
Tony:
I am over 6'3", and I fit into the Legacy very comfortably. Although I am considerably lighter than 230, I don't think that would change my comfort in the airplane much. I have taken along passengers taller and bigger than I am, including a potential builder I took on a demonstration flight at the fly-in last weekend, and they found the cockpit very comfortable. To maximize the leg and shin room, we moved the pedal set (old style, floor-mounted) forward and mounted it to studs on the firewall and dropped the floorboard over an inch on the pilot's side. I also designed the seat cushioning to put my rear-end as far aft as possible, so my legs are straighter. It all worked out great, and I've been comfortable in the airplane for over 200 hours now.
