 On several occasions over the years I have discovered a static leak when
doing the recertification. In all cases it was traced to the lg Safety Switch.
Therefore I advocate removing the static system connection from the Safety
switch and just installing a vent line in front of the firewall. Hence any
leak in diaphram would cause a miniscule drop in pitot pressure and any
 variation in the airspeed at which the gear SS solenoid activates would be
minor.
