Doug: For the 2004 race I had my plane at the Reno airport
from Wednesday through Monday; on race days they charge $25/night tiedown. Last
year I went into Carson City; no charges! Reno has an incredible bus system from
downtown to the race; $0.75 for Senors each way. The buses run every 15
minutes. Check it out on the internet for prices and schedules. The
Hilton out near the Reno airport is lower cost than the downtown casinos, and
there's a bus that goes to/from the Hilton and downtown, and you can get
a transfer to use for the race bus; no charge! There is also a
limited-schedule bus operating to/from Carson City and Reno, so
all bases are covered! There are also buses to/from downtown and the Reno
airport. One runs from the west/commercial side, and one somewhat near the
east/transient side.
