I thought may as well contribute to the garbage. I have learned one thing from this thread. That is that airline pilots as a group have very sensitive egos. I have a lot of respect for all professional pilots but I am not convinced that they walk on water. I am reminded of a case a few years ago were a boarding passenger inquired if the pilots were sober. The flight was cancelled. Was this for safety reasons or sensitive egos? Questions for all you airline pilots and all retired airline pilots: Would you report a fellow pilot who you suspected of drinking and flying? Are airline pilots doing a better job of policing their own ranks now? I think that beating up on Terrence via this forum was totally not called for.
