You have put youor finger on a most serious problem that needs fixing: because half of all GenAv fatalities result from survived post-crash fires. Terrible.
I designed my Magnum so that all the fuel was instantly droppable in a few seconds, by putting it in the tank which looked like part of the fuselage belly, and connecting it through a simple $15. Parker pull-apart disconnect. Gliders don't burn.
Probelms like this are designed into the airplane early on, and need to be designed OUT of the airplane at the start.
Has someone an idea for pushing out the wing-fuel if a crash is unavoidable?
I'm putting a race-car-type bladder into my header-tank shell, but I'd also like to be able to jettison quickly all the wing fuel, too. How?

I was wondering if it is possible to install a system to dump the fuel from a Legacy.
It seams that a good portion of emergency landings end up with fire destroying the plane.
I know it won't be an option for all emergency landings, but given the proper altitude with an engine out, it would be a comforting option.
