The second example is a sample of what can happen when ego’s are pricked beyond recovery.

A few years ago you will recall, I am sure, the Silk Air accident in Indonesia, where the pilot had been, at least in his eyes, belittled by the company in his promotion to command and higher ambitions.

The result was the B737 was deliberately flown into the ground.

So we should never criticize anyone lest their ego gets bruised and they decide to kill a bunch of others in the process of committing suicide?

The accident you cite is not the only example of something like this.  The Egypt Air accident over north Atlantic a few years ago was also blamed on a FO that was passed up for promotion.  In 1987 a fired PSA (then USAir) employee used his unreturned employee badge to get into the flight deck, shot his former supervisor (a passenger in the plane) then shot both pilots and crashed the plane near San Luis Obispo California.  In 1994, a disgruntal FedEx employee boarded a company plane as a passenger and attacked the flight crew with a fire axe.  In that case, the severely injured crew was able to overpower the assailant and land the plane.  Kids who feel that they have been bullied or ostracized by their peers shoot up schools here in the USA with a disturbing regularity.  Do you really feel that the answer to all of these problems is that everyone should bow to the wishes of these mentally unstable individuals and give them whatever they want?

I know we are now far afield of the issue of responding to people who report their bloopers, but your underlying premise that we should not criticize anyone lest their "ego's are pricked beyond recovery" and they loose their head and hurt others is ridiculous.
