I’m revitalizing a 320 = completed in 1991. I again downloaded all the SBs but seem to remember some items = (heard over the years)  that are not there. Maybe they were only concerns = and are not serious enough for SBs.

1)    Is there an inspection method to determine = if the SB (009-92) for the early nose gear has been complied with (SN 1-461)? = The inspection method I’m referring to does not (should not) include teardown.

2)   The plans call out bolts holding the nose = gear strut to the fork to be AN4-X … The nut is a big thick fiber = insert nut. The called out bolts on the fork hardly reach the fiber. Are thinner = nuts appropriate here? Are castle nuts applicable/acceptable = here?

3)   Does the main gear hydraulic cylinder = rebuild kit only provide O-rings and gaskets and the like? Or is there a way to = replace or refinish the “rod” … as this one is rusted. Can I buy = just the rod or do I need to purchase a new cylinder?

4)   I would like to replace the outboard half = of GM3 … the over center linkage with the updated longer version. = Don’t see it on the Lancair “parts” website. If the newer longer = GM3 is not available, and I have to use the original part, is it suitable for = use with the “new” over-center torsion spring?

5)   Can sequence valves be reworked? Is there = an overhaul kit?

On another subject … I am = going to begin baffling work on my new Lancair (360) in the not too distant = future and see in the plans they call out to “use the blueprints for cutting = and folding the aluminum” … page 21-33 of the fast build kit = plans manual. I have no such blueprints and the list of blueprints supplied = with the kit has no mention of such plans. Am I missing something I should have = gotten from Lancair originally or do I need to purchase baffling plans = separately? Or what?

Thanks for all the help in advance = … Jim Nordin
