And the thunderstorms at PVU the night of the accident were the worst
that have been experienced in the past several years. The Chelton data
doesn't indicate that thunderstorm activity contributed physically to
the accident but they may have contributed to the pilot wanting to get
down much quicker than would have been normal.
210 Kts at 1.5 miles from the threshold at 800 agl and descending 1900
fpm at night seems awfully fast for me.
