My 12 year old LNC2 has mostly performed flawlessly, however a recurring problem I have is the nose gear door popping open at higher airspeeds (> 140 KIAS). I previously seemed to have fixed the problem by cannabilising my spool valve from an old pump and putting it in my "new" pump obtained from the local boat shop.
Unfortunately the problem has recurred-I have tried adjusting the door actuator for a tighter fit but to no avail. Is this a common problem experienced by others?
Gerard,

If your nose gear should sag a bit and the gear door valve is slightly out of adjustment, enough to shut off the hi (up) hydraulic pressure to the door actuator, the door would come open.  Check the adjustment screw as it might be marginal.
