Most pilots are too afraid of their airplanes at low speed and high angle of attack and need much more practice in that, including stalls and spins. I assume you mean this. After recurrent and complete stall / spin training in airplanes certified for that, what specific training should Lancair pilots do in their Lancairs? It seems like the cause of most of these accidents is pilots not being able to fly their airplanes without power, ie glide them properly to the ground. If you've never practiced gliding your plane to the ground without power, and you do this for the first time in an emergency engine out situation, off airport and/or low to the ground, I think you odds of surviving are 50/50. We're lucky these engines are so reliable. Do you teach power off flying and landings in IV's or Legacys or 360s? D Taylor
