I guess it's time to start telling those kinds of stories. So here's mine.
Last year as I started south from the Spokane, WA area ATC informed me that I had traffic at 10 o'clock, six miles, same altitude, converging (a Bannana). I heard him call the Bonanza alerting him to my presence and "suggested" a slight left turn to a new heading. He almost immediately recontacted the Bonanza pilot and told him to resume his original course as "the Lancair will be long gone before you get there". OK, OK, I admit to a bit of a tail-wind and was showing about 185 Kts ground speed on the GPS - but the Bonanza had to be enjoying some of that too. I never saw him, ATC told me he was no longer a factor and had passed about two miles behind me.
Love my little Lancair, small tail and all!
