John Deakin, Advanced Pilot Seminars (GAMI course), first brought to my
attention that 1. I don't need to do the valves and 2. read the TCM
service bulletin SB03-3.
So I read the SB03-3 this morning. On page 9 in table 1 it says that if
you have air discharge into the exhaust system, normal bore scope,
normal oil consumption then continue engine in service. Everyone should
read this. And I should be flying to Seattle tomorrow.
Unfortunately my engine heads, cylinders and pistons are on their way to
Lycon to have the valves done.
In response to Walter Atkinson , also from Advanced Pilot Seminar, who

My EGTs are not dancing. The caution is that I have a Vision
Microsystem with no data logging and does not have fast response probes
such as JPI has. So I am not certain that I can see the "dance" if I
did have a burnt valve. This is an assumption on my part. Is this true
or would I see the dance?
Let me add that the Advanced Pilot Seminar was terrific.
Insanity now appears to continue to run the Vision Microsystem engine
monitor.
Insanity is listening to your mechanic who has not been through APS and
may or may not have read the SB03-3.
Insanity is not reading SB03-3 myself.
Education costs. I am learning.
