As an addendum to my last which may be of interest to other owners who do not have a ticket to repair their aircraft, Jet Services at Manassas, Virginia has an A&P who is very experienced with Lancairs, particularly IVs, and can provide appropriate supervision or do the work. Mike Weber, the owner, is a very helpful, extremely competent A&P and because of those attributes his operation is very busy. He runs the Falconhead FBO on the east side of the airport. His number is 800-700-7267. Since Tracy is not the builder to be legal we will need the A&P supervision which, as noted above, is available. Jet Services currently has a real nice Lancair, 360DW (builder not on the list), in their corporate hanger being repaired....reportedly a gear up landing attempt, pilot heard flaps scraping, accellerated, went around, landed with gear down and then noticed the changed prop tips, scraped tail and damage to the flap trailing edge. I believe the owner has done the body/flap repair while the engine and prop were sent off for fixin.
