Tracy et al - Actually, this is going to be a DIFFICULT SB for any LNC 2 builder or owner, except possibly for those in the early stages of construction who have not yet installed their stub wings. The reason Lancair chose a "brace" instead of a full-width replacement of the secondary attach point (spanning the upper and lower spar caps... a superior design) was to reduce the amount of rework. Bracing the attach point (vs.installing a new one) still requires removing each main gear (which requires removing the wings) in order to have full access to the attach point for prepping, installation of lay-ups, etc. That's less work than having to break out the existing attach point, which is really a difficult job. This will be a fairly critical rework, so a lot of care should be taken to get it right.
