Many of you will want at some point to sell your plane to someone like me
who has never built anything with their own hands and doesn't plan to ever
fly in anything they could build.  I know you don't plan to ever sell, but
your wife may want to recoup some money after the divorce!
Our problem as buyers of experimental airplanes is obvious when you
consider SB050-0999. This is seemingly a simple matter for any builder, but
it is not something that a normal A&P knows how to do - they do not work
with composites or fiberglass.  Three BID etc means nothing to him and very
little to me!  I had a devil of a time just getting my A&P to do an annual
on the LNC2 that my partner and I purchased last year.  He is willing to
sign off on this repair if we learn how to do it or get someone who does
know something to do it..
In general, this is the type of problem that reduces the value of your
airplanes to about the cost of materials ( We paid $75,000 for a 360 with
100 hrs and a new - not rebuilt- engine and good avionics). We love the
plane and would love a Legacy even more ...but...
Any ideas - we live in Blacksburg Va. at Virginia Tech (Va Tech football
is #4 this week!)

[Tracy... I suspect that there may be a Lancair builder or two in your
vicinity who should be able to apply this SB in a reliable manner.  The
other alternative is to locate one of the professional builders to
perform the operation.  To those of you who function in this capacity (you
know who you are), here is an opportunity to broaden your customer base
and provide a fellow Lancair-ite with a much needed service.  This is one
of those times that I hope the LML gets to shine as well.  Please let me
know if anyone comes to your aid, Tracy.                     <Marv>    ]
